Founded in 1924, The American Heart Association is a national healthcare organization that consist of more than 33 million volunteers dedicated to promoting heart health.
2. What is the American Heart Association’s mission?
For the last four years the American Heart Association’s mission has been “To be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.”
3. What is National Wear Red Day?
National Wear Red Day is the first Friday in February and it kicks off Heart Month. National Wear Red Day encourages everyone in the community to come together and wear red to spread awareness on the importance of heart health.
4. How does one get involved with Go Red/ American Heart Association locally?
To become in involved with The American Heart Association, you can wear red on National Wear Red Day, spread awareness across social media platforms, and participate in fundraising events throughout the year.
5. What are some advice/tips to improving heart health and wellness?
Follow the life’s simple seven to achieve ideal vascular health: manage blood pressure, control cholesterol, reduce blood sugar, be active, eat better, lose weight, and quit smoking.
